Day Rate: £300-350 per day (Inside IR35)

Qualification Required: NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Role 1: Operational Health & Safety Advisor
In this position, you’ll be the go-to expert for day-to-day health and safety management across the council’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on H&S support across a range of operational teams
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits
- Advise managers on risk controls, safe working practices, and compliance
- Support incident investigations and corrective action planning
- Help drive a positive H&S culture across the organisation
Ideal Candidate
- Strong operational H&S background, ideally within public sector / local gov / care / education or complex settings
- Confident communicator who can partner with services at all levels

Role 2: Health & Safety Advisor – Asbestos Improvements
This post centres around supporting the authority’s asbestos management improvements — a critical piece of work requiring focus, diligence, and a steady hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the review, improvement, and implementation of asbestos management procedures
- Work closely with compliance, estates, and external contractors
- Assist with asbestos surveys, data quality, and documentation
- Provide practical, compliant advice aligned to relevant regulations
- Help embed safe systems of work across affected services
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in asbestos management or compliance within property-based environments
- Strong understanding of legislative requirements in terms of asbestos
- Able to turn technical detail into clear, actionable guidance
