Overview

Principal People is currently recruiting for an Interim Health and Safety Advisor in partnership with a leading transport organisation on a 3-4 month contract offering 3 days per week. This role covers various depot locations across Lancashire, Cumbria, and the North East, focusing on planned site audits and corrective actions.

Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, the successful candidate will support the Health and Safety function in maintaining a compliant and positive health and safety culture in the organisation. They will also undertake planned Health and Safety audits across their depots and offer general advice regarding all Health and Safety matters to management teams and site locations.

This is to pay the successful contractor a daily rate of £275-325/day (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned site Health and Safety audits across Lancashire, Cumbria and North East depots.
  • Communicate and agree on any corrective actions following site audits.
  • Delivering Health and Safety operational support to the organisation.
The Interim Health and Safety Advisor will hold:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Equivalent
  • Have experience working within a transport, engineering, logistics, warehousing, vehicle movement environments / machinery / distribution
  • Strong and competent site auditing experience
  • Be flexible to travel throughout the Lancashire, Cumbria and North East. (occasional overnight stays required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be an engaging, communicative individual able to liaise at all levels.
