Overview

Principal People are working exclusively on behalf of a well-established distribution organisation who are looking for a Quality Manager to join the business.

You will be based from the company’s main head office location in Kent with occasional visits to other sites within the county and so a full driving licence is essential. You will also hold responsibility for a small team of Quality Assurance Technicians and so having previous team management experience will be beneficial.

Quality Manager – Kent - £50K - £60K + Car – Distribution and Food - 603556

The key duties include:
  • Maintain and develop the companies Quality, Food Safety systems. Ensuring compliance to latest BRC Storage and Distribution standards
  • Facilitate the setting and review of food safety and quality objectives.
  • Develop quality strategies and plans relating to food and product storage and distribution.
  • Develop and implement suitable control measures, investigate, and report non-conformances.
  • Manage and chair HACCP System review meetings.
  • Provide advice on all matters related to quality and food safety management for meeting departmental objectives
  • Conduct internal audits as required
  • Management of serious food safety incidents, customer complaints and corrective actions / preventative measures, manage and respond to customer complaints relating to product & service quality, safety, legality, integrity.
  • Manage and review the quality management system documents.

  • Quality based experience within the Food industry
  • Strong experience of working with BRC audits
  • Any experience of distribution/warehousing is beneficial.
  • Experience of managing/mentoring a team
  • Strong engagement and communicative abilities, able to liaise at all levels.
  • A full UK Driving License
