Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety & Performance, you’ll provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance across multiple functions, ensuring best practices and compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
This is a hybrid role, with time split between the Head Office in Leicester and across our network of sites, spread across the country, so national travel will be required.
The Successful Senior Health and Safety Business Partner will be Responsible for:
- Drive continuous improvement for Health & Safety initiatives and programmes across the business.
- Lead technical support and strategy development for health and safety compliance across various departments and facilities.
- Ensure local compliance with legal and regulatory Health & Safety requirements.
- Provide support to operational units during external audits and high-profile site visits.
- Lead high-potential incident investigations and ensure effective communication of findings.
- Mentor colleagues and support the development and delivery of Health & Safety training.
- Maintain positive relationships with enforcement agencies, local communities, and stakeholders.
- Certified Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) with L5/L6 Occupational Health & Safety Qualification as a minimum
- Experience in the Highways, Civil Engineering, Utilities or Rail or Oil and Gas industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and build collaborative relationships across the business.
