Principal People are excited to be recruiting for a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager to join an established utilities organisation that is seeking a passionate, zealous, and innovative individual to join an established safety team and work within a renowned and respected Alliance of businesses to carry out extensive maintenance, refurbishment and upgrades across non-infrastructure assets. This role will offer you the opportunity to work in a hands-on position working in an operational environment and an excellent opportunity to work autonomously, whilst having the potential to grow a SHEQ team.

Covering sites across Essex & Suffolk, you will have autonomy to plan your day how you see fit and work in a hybrid format, likely being in the office near Colchester 2 days per week and home/site 3 days per week.

The successful Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager will be required to have a collaborative, people-focused approach to health and safety as well as a personable personality and strong CDM knowledge.

The successful SHEQ Manager will be responsible for:
  • Providing health and safety support to onsite teams and subcontractors.
  • Promoting a positive health safety culture.
  • Collaboratively working alongside other businesses in the Alliance.
  • Working alongside the wider safety team to implement a positive safety strategy.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of HSEQ systems and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
  • Delivering on-site coaching and acting as a support network
  • Delivering and supporting the framework that promotes and encourages an organisational culture that champions an incident-free environment.
  • Covering sites between Tilbury & Cambridge
The minimum requirements for this role are:
  • NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Experience within Infrastructure or Construction Industries
  • Working knowledge of CDM
Desirable Skills & Experiences:
  • Experience within M&E
  • Temporary works
  • Working at height
