£40,000 to £45,000 + £4,200 Car Allowance + Private Healthcare + benefits package – Homebased / Essex Region – Health and Safety Consultant (Permanent role)

Principal People are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a long-standing client operating within the consultancy industry to identify a new Health and Safety Consultant to work on behalf of their long-standing client base in a range of different industries including; Education, Corporate Offices, Construction clients, Retail to name a few.

If you love variety in your role, and have a customer centric and problem solving approach to health and safety. This role will be perfect for you.

You will be based from home, with occasional visits to the company head office in Essex as well as visiting clients on multiple sites around the Essex region.

The appointed Health and Safety Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Advising clients on generalist health and safety matters from a range of different industry sectors
  • A lot of relationship building! Firstly, introducing yourself to clients and understanding their businesses and then agreeing a plan of action moving forward as to how they can take more responsibility with regards to their day-to-day running of health and safety
  • You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients, in your region! You won’t be travelling from Southampton to Glasgow and juggling clients in between. The company are slick and co-ordinated to ensure that the role is as practical and balanced as possible for you  
  • Acting as the clients’ competent person, as well as being on hand to provide general support over the phone
  • Writing health and safety policies
  • Assist with implementation of policies
  • Monthly or quarterly inspections / visits
  • Helping clients carry out risk assessments at their premises

The ideal Health and Safety Consultant will possess:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum / NEBOSH Diploma / NCRQ 6 (preferred)
  • Ability and experience of working in a customer centric H&S role
  • Full UK Driving License
