Newly created position – Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor – based near Brighouse in Huddersfield - up to £37,000 - £40,000 + attractive benefits package

Principal People are delighted to have exclusively partnered with a Specialised Global Manufacturing organisation based near Brighouse in Huddersfield. The position is working within the HSE Operations Department and will have a strong focus upon behavioural safety engagement towards Health, Safety and Environment onsite.

The successful Health Safety and Environment Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Creating and driving a positive HSE culture, through coaching, training, and support
  • Support and provide HSE guidance to facilities team and onsite projects
  • Ensuring that the SHE management systems in place are understood and maintained
  • Monitoring standards and procedures
  • Assisting the HSE Manager in delivering the HSE strategy across the site
  • Identify HSE risks and develop effective risk reduction
  • Delivering health and safety training where required
  • Verifying and maintaining compliance with internal and external HSE requirements

The ideal will possess as a minimum:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Ideally demonstrable environmental experience although not essential
  • Ideally some experienced with management systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001  
  • 5 + years of experience in a Health and Safety focussed role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment although not essential.

A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience plus 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, 1 additional wellbeing day to be taken off at your choice, private medical and competitive pension will be rewarded to the successful applicant.
