Health & Safety Manager – £50k plus package – Based near Tamworth - REF22859


Principal People are seeking a Health and Safety Professional to join a specialist sub-contractor that works in the Construction Industry. This is a standalone position and offers the successful H&S Manager the opportunity to manage strategic and operational safety. Based near Tamworth, the organisation operate nationally on a diverse portfolio of major projects.

Taking responsibility for the strategic development of the Health and Safety function, the successful candidate will take the lead across all things Health and Safety. This significant but hugely positive challenge will include reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and creating proposals when appropriate for subsequent changes in the culture and operations of Health and Safety across this family run business.

This company regularly works on a range of major projects relating to the Construction industry and are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional that will have autonomy and be a trusted and valued employee who will have input and backing from the Managing Director. We are looking for an engaging, collaborative and autonomous H&S professional who holds passion and enthusiasm for Health & Safety and experience within the Construction or Infrastructure Industries.

Key responsibilities of this Health & Safety Manager include:

  • Managing Health & Safety across all functions with the business
  • Writing risk assessments
  • Produce method statements and lifting plans
  • Building relationships with prestigious clients to deliver safe working practises on site
  • Producing and delivering toolbox talks
  • Liaising regularly with site teams
  • Conducting site audits

The successful Health & Safety Manager will hold:

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience within the Construction, Infrastructure or aggregates industry
  • Full UK Driver’s License
  • Experience managing Lift plans and or erection of temporary structures is highly desirable.

In return the salary is £45k–£50k + Company Van + Fuel Card + Pension Scheme + 24 Days AL + BH, there is also the slight chance our client could be slightly more flexible for the right candidate.
