Remote - Site Travel Across Scotland and Northern England

Are you an ECoW or EnvCoW qualified environmental advisor looking for a role with an expanding successful specialist business offering career progression, the opportunity for shares in the business long terms and whatever training you require to become a technical expert?

Are you looking for a highly flexible, diverse and autonomous position working closely with senior leadership in a company secured on lots of long term, lucrative frameworks in large scale infrastructure and power generation?

The business are an established environmental consultancy delivering expert advice across major infrastructure schemes, wind farms, highways, and hydro projects.

They are a trusted advisor to leading owners, operators and tier one / principal contractors. With a strong pipeline secured through long-term frameworks, their order book is growing – and so is their team.

They're now seeking an environmental advisor to deliver vital site-based compliance work, including protected species checks, construction environmental management plans (CEMPs) and some ecological scopes of work.

You will work completely remotely except when at site with lots of flexibility and a great work life balance – the majority of the team don’t do 8 hours a day and switch off their laptops once they have completed the day’s tasks.

The Role
  • Attend infrastructure sites across Scotland and Northern England to conduct environmental walkovers and pre-commencement checks
  • Advise site teams on SEPA regulations, protected species, buffer zones, and ecological best practice
  • Monitor compliance with CEMPs and annex plans including loss prevention, species protection, and private water supply
  • Conduct baseline surveys and water quality sampling
  • Act as Clerk of Works (EnvCoW / ECoW) on major infrastructure projects
  • Work closely with PMs and CMs on large-scale energy, highway, and utility frameworks
The Person
  • Degree qualified in an environmental discipline
  • Some knowledge of ecology, protected species, and infrastructure compliance requirements
  • Confident on-site communicator – able to earn trust and ensure compliance from construction teams
  • Physically fit – comfortable walking around vast sites and up and down hills etc
  • Full UK driving licence – open to regular travel and overnight stays
  • Based in Scotland or North England, with flexibility to travel across wider regions
The Package
  • £35,000 - £47,000 depending on experience
  • All expenses paid – accommodation, food (£35 per night away) and travel covered
  • Discretionary bonus – typically £2,000 - £4,000 per year
