We've partnered with a leading construction and civil engineering specialist to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their established and growing HSE team. With an expanding turnover, an impressive portfolio of high-value projects and ambitious plans for the future, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that prides itself on engineering excellence, technical expertise and exceptionally high standards.
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of four projects across the West Home Counties, covering a diverse range of heavy construction, civil engineering and infrastructure works. From complex concrete structures and major civils schemes to bridge construction and water treatment, you'll gain exposure to technically challenging projects that offer real variety.
This is a genuinely autonomous, site-focused position where you'll have the freedom to manage your own diary, plan your visits and take responsibility for your projects. Working closely with project managers, site teams and senior management, you'll build strong relationships, provide practical advice and play an important role in driving a positive health and safety culture. Rather than being desk-based or simply ticking boxes, you'll be out on site, involved in the projects and trusted to use your knowledge and initiative to make a genuine difference.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing practical H&S advice and support across multiple projects.
- Building relationships with site teams and project management.
- Carrying out inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Supporting risk assessments and method statements.
- Driving positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Challenging constructively and influencing at all levels.
What We're Looking For:
- Ideally 5 years' experience in construction and/or civil engineering (3+ years considered)
- Background in heavy construction, civils or infrastructure
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels
- Someone proactive, practical and comfortable managing their own workload
