Social Housing Recruitment (SHR) will merge into Principal People, and together, we are renaming SHR a new discipline within the PP organisation: Principal People Technical Services. This change allows us to expand our services and strengthen our capabilities to better serve you.

To ensure compliance with our new organisational structure, we will require all clients with agreed terms under Social Housing Recruitment (SH Recruit Ltd) to re-sign terms with Principal People (PP Recruitment Ltd). What’s Next?

Most of the changes will occur over the week commencing 2nd December 2024, where we will migrate to Principal People email addresses and formally present as Principal People Technical Services. Our main office phone number (0203 8000 888) will also be redirected to Principal People’s (01252 759 162). The www.socialhousingrecruitment.co.uk website will be redirected to www.principalpeople.co.uk.

  • Which roles and sectors will Principal People - Technical Services recruit into?

    Principal People - Technical Services will recruit roles regardless of the sector where the fabric, safety, or maintenance of a building is involved. This covers the built environment, hard FM, historic sites, engineering on production lines, infer structure and space.

    Examples of roles include but are not limited to:

    • Fabric Manager
    • Technical Services Manager
    • Surveyor
    • Building Safety (Asbestos, Fire, Legionella, M&E, Lifts, Lightning, Structure, Electrical, Gas, Raydon)
    • Engineering Manager
    • Head of Estates/Facilities

  • Are your contact details staying the same?

    As we are joining the Principal People organisation, some of our Social Housing Recruitment contact details will be changing.

    Our email addresses will have a new suffix but follow the same format. For example:
    Current - r.rowden@shrecruit.co.uk
    New - r.rowden@principalpeople.co.uk

    Our mainline phone number will be changing to the Principal People phone number

    Our team's DDI's will remain the same. 

  • I’m a candidate, what happens to my job applications?

    If you have applied for any roles with Social Housing Recruitment, rest assured your applications have been transitioned to Principal People. They will still be processed in the same way and by the same dedicated team. Should you need an update on the status, please reach out. 

  • I'm a client, will this change our terms of business?

    As part of the merger process, we will review all business terms. If we require any amendments, we will contact you directly. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need further clarification or want to speak to us.
