Interim Health and Safety Manager

Principal People are currently recruiting for an Interim Health and Safety Manager in partnership with a leading specialist engineering contractor working on one of their prestigious projects in Berkshire. This is a site-based role on an initial 12-month contract with likelihood of extension working on a specialist installation project in the Nuclear sector. This role is to offer a day rate of £550-700/day (Outside IR35).

Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities include:

• Operational site inspections, audits and observation of high risk activities
• Delivering overall Health and Safety support to the project team.
• Engage and build relationships with project stakeholders, client and contractors
• Produce detailed Health and Safety reports for senior management and client.
• Provide clear advice and guidance to relevant stakeholders of the project
• Attend relevant project meetings
• Reviewing of RAMS

The Successful Site Health and Safety Manager will hold:

• NEBOSH Diploma level qualification minimum (Essential)
• Be a Chartered member of IOSH (Highly desirable)
• Have worked on a nuclear site (Highly desirable) or transferable sectors (Chemicals, Oil and Gas)
• Hold strong experience within complex, high risk construction projects
• Hold strong engagement capabilities able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Hold current SC clearance is desirable but not essential
